Friday November 18th NBA Preview and Results From Thursday By Andrew Martin
We have finally reached Friday! The NBA has 10 games going tonight and, like on any other Friday, we have some good matchups. Let’s look at my Key Three Matchups for tonight.
Key Three Matchups
Spurs (9-3) vs. Lakers (7-5): The Spurs may have lost Tim Duncan, but they’re looking pretty good without him right now. Kawhi Leonard has had an amazing start to the season. He has been averaging 25 points per game and about 6 rebounds per game. Nick Young will probably not play tonight due to illness, so the Lakers will be without their best small forward. The Spurs have a 4 game winning streak going into this game and I think they will extend it.
My pick: Spurs -7
Warriors (9-2) vs. Celtics (6-5): The Warriors have a 5 game winning streak going into this game in Boston tonight. One of the big key factors that I find in this game is that the Celtics could be without star players Al Horford and Jae Crowder. This is going to have a big effect on the Celtics tonight. If the Celtics have Horford and Crowder back tonight, I probably would have picked them tonight since the Warriors are ranked near the bottom of the league in opponent’s points per game.
My pick: Warriors -8
Pistons (6-6) vs. Cavaliers (9-2): Both teams are coming off losses and looking to get back on track tonight. The Cavaliers will probably still not have J.R Smith again tonight. I still think that the Cavaliers will be blowing up in the points category, especially Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, because, the Pistons are ranked near last in the league in points per game.
My pick: Cavaliers -12
Results from Thursday
Yesterday, I said that the Jazz were going to barely beat the Bulls by 4. The Bulls won 85-77 with 20 points by Jimmy Butler and also 13 rebounds. Next, I said that the Trail Blazers would beat the Rockets by 5. The Rockets won 126-109 with James Harden getting a triple-double, 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. Finally I said that the Bucks would beat the Heat by 10. Well, that was a bad game for the Bucks. They lost 96-73 with Hassan Whiteside getting 12 points and an astonishing 17 rebounds.
