Monday November 14th NBA Preview and Results From Yesterday by Andrew Martin

The NBA has a lot of competitive games going tonight. Some of these games I think are worth a look. Here are my Key Three Matchups tonight!

Key Three Matchups

  1. Thunder (6-4) vs. Pistons (5-5): This is a good matchup for both teams. The Thunder are looking better than people expected and the Pistons aren’t looking bad either. We are obviously seeing Russell Westbrook in his prime so far this season, averaging a double-double. Some could argue that he is the elite point guard in the NBA right now. On the other side, the Pistons have a satisfactory defense with an average offense in my opinion. They’re top player everyone knows is Andre Drummond who is 2nd in the league in rebounds per game with an amazing 14.3. I just don’t think that the Pistons can handle the red hot Thunder tonight.

My pick: Thunder -7

  1. Nets (4-5) vs. Clippers (9-1): The Clippers are hot and they are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The Clippers have the perfect combination of a solid offense featuring Chris Paul and a unbelievable defense featuring DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. This team looks like one of the dream teams in the NBA so far and if they stay hot, they could be in the playoffs and potentially going all the way and be NBA champions. Tonight, it is looking like an easy ride through a Nets team that won’t have Jeremy Lin or Brook Lopez and is ranked 27th in the league in turnovers per game.

My pick: Clippers -13

  1. Magic (4-6) vs. Pacers (4-6): Recordwise, this could be a very close game. The Pacers will have Paul George playing in this game tonight so that is an upside for the Pacers. The Magic, led by Nikola Vucevic, haven’t been looking good in their last 5 games losing 3 of those 5 including their 32 point loss against the Bulls. That is why I have the Pacers in this game.

My pick: Pacers -2

Games from Yesterday

Yesterday, in my first game, I had the Cavs beating the Hornets by 5. The Cavs defeated the Hornets by 5, so it was a pretty close game as I predicted. Kevin Love led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds in that game. I also said that the Lakers were going to just pull it out against the Timberwolves with the Lakers winning by 3. Well, that went south. The Timberwolves won by 24 points with Andrew Wiggins leading the Timberwolves with 47 points! Finally, I had the Warriors crushing the Suns by 15 points last night. The Warriors won by 13 points with their leading scorer in that game, Steph Curry, with 30 points and also 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
