Ichabod Crane Captures Section 2 Class B Title by Camdyn Ames

On Saturday afternoon the Ichabod Crane Boys' soccer team defeated Voorheesville 2-1 in a golden goal overtime period. The first half went by scoreless, but the Riders had many attempts on goal, some inches away from going in. The second half was a different story the Riders Giovanni Gomez struck with a goal with 12:42 remaining. Voorheesville struck back just minutes later to tie the game 1-1. The game went into overtime which would be a golden goal period, so the first goal wins the game. It was nerve wrecking for both sides as shots went bye missing by inches, but Kevin Winglowski stepped up and buried a goal to secure the title for the Riders. Ichabod Crane will play at 4:30 in Plattsburgh on Tuesday, November 1st.
