Ichabod Crane Gets First Win Over Cairo-Durham by Camdyn Ames


The Ichabod Crane Riders Varsity Football team defeated Cairo-Durham 29-0 to collect their first win of the season. The Riders started off hot as Freshman Quarterback Austin Walsh dashed in for a 4 yard touchdown on their first possession. Robbie James later added a touchdown on a 3 yard run in the second quarter and the Riders kept it going as Tobi Zucco carried two defenders with him for the 17 yard score to end the half. In the fourth quarter Zucco scored again on a 25 yard interception returned for a touchdown. For the Riders Walsh finished 2 for 12 with 33 yards passing and 4 rushes for 17 yards and a touchdown. Zucco finished with 7 carries, 69 yards and a touchdown, freshman Marcus George had 5 carries for 46 yards, Robbie James had 2 carries for 6 yards and a touchdown. Christian Pesano had a catch for 25 yards and George added a catch for 8 yards. For Cairo-Durham Donavon Minott had 83 yards on 21 carries and completed 1 pass for 12 yards. The Riders will take on Coxsackie-Athens at home on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
