Indians Take Game 1 Of World Series by Camdyn Ames
On Tuesday night the Cleveland Indians looked absolutely stunning in their 6-0 Game 1 win. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber went 6 innings allowing 4 hits while striking out 9 before he turned it over to ALCS MVP Andrew Miller. Miller went 2 innings allowing 2 hits and sitting down 3. Cody Allan slammed the door only allowing 1 hit and striking out 3 in the 9th. The offense was led by 9 hitter Roberto Perez. Perez smacked 2 homers, had 4 RBI, and scored 2 runs. Francisco Lindor also had a good game at the plate going 3 for 4 and a run scored. The Cubs didn't look too hot, their pitching wasn't quite what they've had all year. Jon Lester started and went 5.2 innings allowing 6 hits, and 3 ER, while striking out 7. Their offense seemed almost non existent. Ben Zobrist went 3 for 4, but that was all they could muster besides one hit from Kyle Schwarber, Javier Baez, Wilson Contrearas, and David Ross. Game 2 will be Wednesday, October 26th in Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. On the mound will be Jake Arrieta for the Cubs and Trevor Bauer for the Indians.
