Cubs Heading Back to Chicago with a 3-2 Series Lead by Jake Martino
Game 5- Cubs 8 Dodgers 4
LA- It has been almost 7 decades since the Cubs have won the world series. Of course, the Cubs were in the same position 13 years ago, heading back home with a 3-2 series lead in the NLCS. And in Game 5 the Cubs were looking to make a statement that they are still contenders. Jon Lester pitched a fine game of 7 sharp innings. Rizzo’s RBI double gave the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the first. LA tied it in the fourth on Gonzalez’s RBI groundout. After that, it was all Addison Russel as he hits a bomb of a homerun to score Baez which broke open the scoring for the Cubs. For the Dodgers, Madea gave up one run and three hits over 2 2/3 innings.
In Game 6, Kershaw takes the bump in Chicago coming off an extra day of rest. Kershaw is 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA in three starts this postseason. For the Cubs, Kyle Hendricks returns to the mound with a 2.13 ERA (best in the MLB). He only allowed a homerun in 5 1/3 innings in Game 2. This game is Saturday at 8:08 on FS1.
