Dodgers Force a Game 5 Winner Take All in D.C. by Jared McCabe


The Dodger won a thriller yesterday and forced a winner take all Game 5 in D.C. by beating the Nationals 6-5. The Dodgers had Clayton Kershaw pitch on three days rest to pitch the game of his life and he pitched well striking out 11, but only resulting into a no decision. Adrian Gonzalez led the way for the Dodgers by hitting a two run homer in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead. Then Joc Peterson had a huge two-run double in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Everyone thought it was over at this point, but bases loaded two outs, Jayson Werth was hit by the pitch and Daniel Murphy the next batter hit a game tying two-run single to tie the game at 5. In the bottom of the 8th Chase Utley had the biggest at bat of the game and delivered the game winning single and the Dodgers went on winning the game 6-5. Game 5 is on Thursday. First pitch around 8:00 Rich Hill takes the bump for the Dodgers against Max Scherzer. \
