Game 1 and 2 Belong to the Cubs by Jake Martino
Chicago- It has been some good couple days to be a Cubs fan as they are looking to end the Giants even year streak and begin their own, going for the World Series Title.
Game 1- Cubs 1 Giants 0
Game 1 was simply a pitching duel between the Cubs Jon Lester and the Giants Johnny Cueto. Both teams were led by solid defense on both sides. Both pitchers went for seven innings, Cueto allowing two hits and Lester allowing 5. Finally in the eighth inning the scoring opening and finished when Javier Baez put a ball in the left-field basket to give Jon Lester the win. Chapman came on in the night and earned the save and gave the Cubs the victory.
Game 2- Cubs 5 Giants 2
Game 2 was simply a battle of the bullpens as the Cubs knocked former Cubbie Jeff Samardzija out of the game after scoring in the first and second innings. The Giants, who’s offense has been quiet, got two runs in the top of the third.
Game 3 is Monday in San Fran as the Cubs face Madison Bumgarner and look to sweep the Giants.
