Heeeeessss backkkkkkkk. One month after committing to returning to golf, it is official, he will be playing at the Safeway Open on October 13th in Napa, California. Woods has not played in more than a year since he had back surgery which kept him off the course.
In addition, Tiger Woods was named co-captain to the Presidents Cup Team. Recently, Tiger was a co-captain on the Ryder Cup team which he led to victory.
Woods has not played a professional event since the Wyndham Championship in August of 2015. Just after that tournament he had second and third back procedures. There is some speculation that Woods and Phi Mickelson could be paired together as a means of promoting the event.
Has Tiger changed since August of 2015? New swing? New game plan? One of the greatest golfers in the history of the game will return starting October 13th.
