Indians Snag Game 1 Of ALDS by Camdyn Ames

On Thursday, October 6th the Cleveland Indians took game 1 of the ALDS from the Boston Red Sox 5-4. The Sox struck first scoring 1 run on a Hanley Ramirez double. The Indians knotted it up in the second with a run of their own off the bat of Lonnie Chisenhall. The big bats were out tonight and they struck in the top of the 3rd when Andrew Benintendi homered in his first MLB Postseason at-bat. In the bottom half of the 3rd the Indians went on a tear, Roberto Perez, Jason Kipinis, and Francisco Lindor all homered. The Sox struck back in the top of the 5th with a Sandy Leon homer, but the Indians wouldn't stop scoring again on a Kipinis single. The Red Sox wouldn't let up when Brock Holt homered in the 8th but they couldn't tie the game stranding a runner on second after David Ortiz's double. Kipinis finished 3 for 4 with a home run, and 2 RBI, Jose Ramirez went 2 for 3 with a run scored. For the Sox Holt finished 3 for 4 with a home run, and RBI, and Hanley Ramirez went 2 for 4 with an RBI. The pitching was two different stories. Trevor Bauer had a great start going 4.2 IP, allowing just 6 hits, 3 earned runs while striking out 6. For the Sox Porcello lasted just 4.1 IP, allowing 5 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. Game 2 is Friday, October 7th at 4:30 p.m. Price will be on the hill for the Sox and Kluber for the Indians.
