ALDS Rangers vs. Blue Jays Game 1 Recap by Austin Walsh
Last night the Blue Jays clinched the first game of the series with a 10-1 win over the Texas Rangers. Despite the home field advantage the Rangers couldn't pull away with the win. The Blue Jays held them to one run that occurred in the 9th inning of the game. Pitching for the Blue Jays was Marco Estrada, who gave the Rangers a tough time up to bat. The Blue Jays’ hitters kept getting their runs around the diamond on the Rangers’ Cole Hamels. The Jays’ ten runs were scored in the 3rd,4th and 9th innings. Five runs in the third with a double and a single to the outfield each sent one home and a triple scoring three. In the fifth two runs scored with a home run and single driving a man in. In the ninth Jose Bautista homered to right with a 424 foot three run homer. Finally for the Rangers they batted in an RBI for their only run of the game. Bautista and Estrada led the Blue Jays to victory. Next game of the series will be today at 1:08pm on TBS and TSN. The rangers have home field advantage once again as they attempt to tie the series up.
