Academy Golf Defeats Ichabod Crane Golf for Sole Possession of 1st Place
On Tuesday, Rivals Albany Academy and Ichabod Crane squared off in a match that would be one to remember and it was. Medalist for the match was freshman #1 Aidan Fitzgerald. “It was an off day”, “the first 5 holes were strong but
once I got to 6 I started pushing putts and it just wasn’t a good finish” said freshman Trevor Wolfe after the match. Trevor has been the story of Ichabod Crane’s success. #1 Scott VanDenburg and #2 Trevor Wolfe both carded 41’s for the day. It wasn’t a day to remember for Academy’s Ryan Warnick shooting a 51. But his teammates picked him up in the victory for the Cadets. Academy Freshman #1 Aidan Fitzgerald shot a 40. Notable finishes: Tismark Boham shot a 45 in a difficult day for himself. A match to remember on the not so great scores, but these teams meet again on September 28th at Colonie Country Club.
